NORSE PROJECTS X OI POLLOI PARKA JACKET

August 30th, 2010

Copenhagen’s own Norse Projects are slowly revealing their Fall/Winter range for this season and it’s starting to shape up to be one of their best seasons yet. After already working with Ally Cappalino, and Elka, Norse projects have teamed up with Manchester’s Oi Polloi to create their rendition of the traditional parka jacket.

The beautiful waxed parka, comes in military green, navy and beige and features a collaborative patch detail on the left sleeve, as well as a special logo tag on the inside of the jacket.

“For me, it’s all about rambling, walking and camping in mid to late seventies, it’s the kind of jacket the old guys would be wearing. At the time we thought they looked pretty cool. The jacket we found and chose to use for inspiration is one my favourite outerwear pieces. It was in part designed by a legendary British mountaineer Chris Bonington… we love that it’s cotton, just using 2 layers. A superb simple design. Also, the hoods a great shape and the length a little longer than most jackets – but not so long as to make it a fully fledged mod parka.” – Steve Sanderson of Oi Polloi

NORSE PROJECTS FEATURED ON COMPLEX

August 13th, 2010

The team over at Complex Magazine recently had a chance to sit down with Mikkel Grønnebæk one of the brains behind Copenhagen’s own Norse Projects, giving us an insight into the label, and the upcoming ranges for the rest of this year.

“Concentrating on functional basics such as sweaters, shirts, and hats, the label opted for simple designs influenced by Scandinavian weather and surroundings with subtle streetwear twists. The collection was well-received by many, and the brand continues to bring heat this year with a new line that features similar characteristics as the last but also pays extra attention to the current trend of men embracing more put-together looks. With that said, Norse Projects is perfect if you have been looking to move away from the over-designed, over-branded apparel many streetwear brands have been stuck on, but still want to keep your wardrobe stocked with relevant, fresh gear…”
