CONVERSE FIRST STRING 1970'S CHUCK TAYLOR HIGH AND LOW

April 19th, 2013

The second instalment of the 1970’s Chuck Taylor All Star Collection has arrived, and is now available! With the first release in the Black and the Parchment selling out in days the addition of colour will surely see these fly off the shelves.

As many of you will know, these may look like standard Chuck Taylors to the untrained eye but, these beauties show us the comparison of quality from back in the 70’s to now. The finer details include such things as a slightly higher rubber foxing along the sole, added cushioning, and a slightly more substantial toe box. Each pair has the additional features of the traditional stitching on the sidewall, vintage license plates on the heels, super heavy-grade canvas upper, and the final detail of the ‘player’s name’ badge on the tongue’s inner. Available in store and online now in Crimson Red and Sunflower Yellow in extremely limited numbers, you'll be sorry if you miss out on these!

CONVERSE FIRST STRING STANDARD 1970'S CHUCK TAYLOR COLLECTION

February 26th, 2013

Converse have been at it again, delivering a new range of First String Standards with their 1970’s Chuck Taylor All Star collection. Taking cues from the traditional Chucks of the 70’s when Converse was boasted by Ballers, Rockers, and Skaters alike ripping up their stages, courts, and emptied pools in the black or white hi-tops and low-tops.

From afar these might just seem like your regular Chuck Taylor All Stars, but when you look a little closer they’re so much more. With finer details such as a slightly higher rubber foxing along the sole, added cushioning, and a slightly more substantial toe box. Each pair has the addition features of the traditional stitching on the sidewall, vintage license plates on the heels, super heavy-grade canvas upper, and the final detail of the ‘player’s name’ badge on the tongue’s inner. Available exclusively to Up There in Australia, the 1970’s Chuck Taylor All Star collection will officially release this Saturday the 2nd of March, with the Black Hi-top, and Parchment low-top been available in mens sizes US7-US12 for $120 from 11:00am both in store at our Melbourne CBD location and online.

NOW AVAILABLE: CONVERSE JACK PURCELL JOHNNY HI AND OX

March 31st, 2012

Our first series of Converse First String releases have started to arrive at the store, with these new renditions of the Jack Purcell Johnny low and high-top silhouettes.

Both the Jack Purcell Johnny Hi in Greystone, and Jack Purcell Johnny Ox in Goblin Blue feature all of the added creature comforts that come along with Converse’ First String releases. Taking their attention to detail to the next level by mixing high quality materials with their traditional manufacturing techniques and timeless silhouettes. The low and high-top silhouettes feature a finely pinstriped upper with opaque rip stop overlays, tortoise shell eyelets, accenting greystone and goblin blue signature ‘smiles’, added support in the form of Converse’ removable cushioned innersole, and the final touch of the triple banded grosgrain ribbon along the heel of both silhouettes.

Available in store and online now, continue reading after the jump for all of the finer details of these classic Jack Purcells.
