March 28th, 2014

Amidst the hustle a bustle of this weekends releases, we’ve got another of Converse’s First String releases wih the Nigel Cabourn Ventile 1970’s Chuck Taylor All Star Hi. For this release Cabourn again utilises his signature L28 Ventile fabric on the upper and lining of the sneaker, only now it adorns the revered Chuck '70 Hi silhouette in a bright white with fiery coral accents. Ventile was developed for use in WWII flight suits as a material to protect Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire pilots when they ejected from their planes into icy cold waters. The tightly woven cotton is wind and water resistant so it extended survival time tenfold and saved many ejected pilots’ lives. Suits made with Ventile fabric remain in use by the British Royal Air Force to this day.

These will release in store tomorrow morning from 11am at our level 1/15 McKillop Street location, with remaining pairs releasing online from 12pm the same day. Remember numbers are limited, so get in quick, and until tomorrow check out the rest of the details of the release here.
